In Jackson Hole, fashion is not something that many people pay a lot of attention to--functionality and comfort are the highest values for clothing, with stylishness down the list-- and it isn't sneaker weather yet anyway. I sort of knew that white sport shoes and other color shoes with white soles were a thing--the black Altras I bought for walking city streets on this trip came in, among other color combinations, black with a white sole. But I hadn't realized how universal they are now, even more than blue jeans. I took these pictures over a period of three minutes. The twenty-first-century version of spats, I think -- clean white on your feet means you don't do dirty work.
